Fall and Rise, Strength in Numbers

Alright it has been some months since the last update on things. There is some bad news as well as great news for today.
To start it all off (bad news), the Chaser total conversion will no longer happen. The development tools released were not what we expected them to be. The model tool provided is only meant for importing custom models into maps and not to replace in-game objects such as weapons, characters, etc. As well as the 3DS Max export plugin only being compatible with a very old 3DS version which is impossible to find now. This completely broke the possibility of a full mod with this game the second time for us. But have no fear. A bright light is shinning down at the end of these grimy tunnels.

Since the demise of the Chaser total conversion. We have started brainstorming ideas to make a sequel to Chaser, using the Source engine. This sequel will be multiplayer only, at least to begin with. If we do happen to come up with a story, that may be added later. This new mod will take on the name of our old total conversion plan, Call to Arms. Chaser: Call to Arms is already in development and is currently in alpha stage. Some code is being altered as well as some basic map layouts are being designed. We plan on taking the Chaser world to the next level and beyond. We are opening a section for Call to Arms on our Team Source page so you can stay more up to date with our progress.

In other news, we have just recruited two new team members to help us on various projects. Give a warm welcome to Mashi Tsushiro and Joshua Purdy! They both may be adding their own projects, so keep a lookout for them.

Chaser Total Conversion

Cauldron has released a very cruicial development tool for us to use. We have plans of creating a completley new game out of the CloakNT engine. Making the game better overal, more fun and more visually pleasing. If all goes well, this will turn into a huge project for us and become the next stepping stone in our game development journey. So far, we have some small ideas of how its going to play out and also have a concept of the main menu up in the forum.

More news will be released at a later time. For now, keep checking our forum post under "The Games /-/ Chaser" for the latest bits of information that slip through our fingertips. There has also been a project opened for this on the source page HERE.

Website Downtime

Sorry about the site being down for a few days. Our servers were hacked. Everything has been restored to the most recent backups and I have implemented some new security to help prevent this from happening again in the future.

Looking for Talent

Nightmare Creations is looking for new talent for the team. Most or all of us are very busy with school and work these days. We would like to keep everything active and the only way at this point is to find some new team members.

We are open for any kind of developer. Such as programmer, level designer, modeler or someone that wants to do full modding. If anyone is interested in helping us keep things alive, please register and post in the forum and include a few things you have worked on. New, learning developers are welcome!

What's taking so long!?

You may be asking me that... Well I've had some thing going on here and there that have stopped me from working on everything. Trying to get a new computer, planning for college, working at this terrible job, etc.

I would have had Water Trap finished a while back, but some complications with Hammer forced me to take a frustration break. Long story short: I made a mountain which caused water to not show, then deleted mountain completely in hammer, mountain still shows in compiled map and causing issues. Basically I can't get that damned thing out of the compiled version. When I can figure that out I can finish the map. Anyone know a way? Send me a PM in the forum :)

The others I will work on as soon as I get the time. I'll keep posting news here from time to time about progress. Also, if anyone would like to join the team and help speed things up, you are more than welcome to!
